Become an Equipped and Empowered Patient
Patients can feel overwhelmed navigating the complicated world of eyecare. We’re your reliable guide to knowing increased quality of life as an equipped and empowered patient.
Our complete eye health exam utilizes advanced technology and personalized treatment plans to best help you see well and look good.
The Importance of Ongoing Eye Care
Your eyes are an integral part of your overall health. By thoroughly assessing your eyes, we can determine if you need corrective eyeglasses or contact lenses, monitor for signs of ocular disease, and detect over 270 systemic health conditions.
Even if you believe your eyes are in top condition, a comprehensive eye exam can detect early signs of eye disease that could otherwise have no obvious signs or symptoms. Early detection allows for early intervention, helping to prevent vision loss or blindness.
When to Visit Us
We enjoy seeing our patients, and our goal is to help you maintain good vision and healthy eyes throughout your life. Regularly scheduling a comprehensive eye exam is the easiest way to monitor your eyes for any signs of ocular diseases.
Frequency of Eye Exams
For how often you should visit us, the American Optometric Association suggests:
- Age 18–64: schedule an eye exam every 2 years
- Age 65+: schedule an eye exam every year
Factors That Can Increase the Need for More Frequent Exams
We may recommend more frequent eye exams if you are at risk for eye disease. Factors that put you at a higher risk can include:
- Having a family history of eye disease
- Performing visually demanding occupations
- Experiencing a previous eye injury
- Progressing refractive errors
- Taking prescriptions with ocular side effects
What You Can Expect During Your Examination
Our thorough exam process is designed to support you with a personalized treatment plan. Our team takes the time to get to know you, gives you time to ask questions, and empowers you with informative answers.
We gather your medical history to get a clear idea of your eye health and potential risk factors. Your doctor will spend unrushed time with you testing your visual acuity, examining the overall health of your eyes, presenting your personalized treatment plan, and discussing any needed vision aid materials.
